Colchuck Lake Route Map - Tobin Akehurst Collaboration

from $19.99

This is a labelling collaboration with the outdoor photographer Tobin Akehurst (instagram). Tobin captured this gorgeous panorama of Colchuck Lake, in the Enchantments.

With Tobin’s input I added route details of all of the major ice, snow and rock climbing routes on Colchuck Peak, Dragontail, Colchuck Balanced Rock and the other peaks surrounding the lake. You can use it as a ticklist for Colchuck Lake climbing or bring it with you on a hike so you know what you’re looking at.

These prints are high-quality photographic prints using archival materials; the proceeds support both artists. Contact me for other sizes and mounting options.

Peaks and labeled routes:

This piece includes all of the prominent peaks surrounding Colchuck Lake and the iconic rock, snow and ice routes:

  • 6 routes on Colchuck Balanced Rock

  • 2 routes on Aasgard Sentinel/Spineless Prow

  • 5 routes on Dragontail Peak including Triple Couloirs, Gerber-Sink, and Backbone Ridge

  • 6 routes on Colchuck Peak including Colchuck Glacier, Colchuck North Buttress Couloir and more

  • Aasgard Pass

  • 19 routes total

I did my best labeling this based on thorough research and experience, but all routes are approximate and come with no guarantee of exactitude. Using your brain and more detailed beta sources is required to climb safely.
